The Maintenance House

Health and Safety

Keeping people, property, and every job site safe —
on every visit, every time.

At The Maintenance House, health and safety isn't an afterthought or a compliance checkbox — it's built into how every job runs, from a single call-out to a multi-site commercial contract.

Our Approach

We operate under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA), with a consistent process applied across every job, every trade, and every site:

Site induction — our team confirms site-specific hazards, access requirements, and any client rules before work begins

Hazard identification — risks are checked and recorded before, not after, work starts

Sign-in / sign-off — every visit is logged with the building owner, manager, or on-site contact

Incident and near-miss reporting — any issue is recorded, reported, and followed up, not just noted verbally

PPE and safe work practices — appropriate protective equipment and safe methods for every trade, every time

Managed Through SafetyCulture

We use the SafetyCulture platform to run our health and safety system in practice, not just on paper. This gives us:

Digital site inspections and checklists completed on the day, on-site

- A time-stamped record of hazard checks and inductions for every job

- Fast, documented incident and near-miss reporting

- A clear audit trail available to clients and contract managers on request

For clients managing compliance across a property or portfolio, this means you get visibility into what was checked, when, and by whom — not just an invoice at the end.

Our People

Every team member and trade partner working under the TMH name is expected to meet the same standard, regardless of which division they sit in — building, painting, cleaning, landscaping, or a specialist subcontractor brought in for a specific trade. Our team leaders are responsible for ensuring their crews are inducted and briefed before work begins on any site.

Insurance

The Maintenance House is fully insured across all services we deliver, giving property owners, managers, and body corporates confidence that every job is covered from start to finish.

Working With Us

Whether you're a homeowner having one job done or a facilities manager overseeing a multi-site contract, you can expect the same standard: a documented, HSWA-aligned process behind every visit, and a team that treats your site as seriously as our own.
